Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have welcomed their royal baby, a baby boy.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first child, who is the Queen and Prince Philip's eighth great-grandchild, is seventh in line to the throne.
The baby's name has not yet been announced, and if the couple follow in the footsteps of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge we could be waiting a few days to find out.
In a break from royal tradition, the couple will not pose for photos outside the hospital before taking their new arrival home.
Here's the Buckingham Palace statement in full:
"We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.
The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.
More details will be shared in the forthcoming days."
