Seun Egbegbe has visited us four times to dupe us -Gbagada BDC operators With a case of theft still hanging on his neck and due to appear in court on February 8, 2017, the celebrated film maker struck again at Gbagada General Hospital on February 2, 2017. Disguised as a doctor, he attempted to defraud a Bureau de Change operator of hard currency of an amount above N6 million. But sources at the forex market told Vanguard that it was not this first time, that, it would be his fourth time he would be duping operators at the market. “He has visited our market several times with different groups of people,” said one of the leaders in the market. “The first time he went into Tantaliser, pretending to be the manager and he duped our people. The second time he went into one hospital beside GTB at Gbagada here, he did the same thing impersonating the manager. The third time, he did it on the street and collected money and he disappeared. And the fourth time he went to the General Hospital, at Gbagada, impersonating the MD, Dr Lawal. He pretended as if he was treating a patient laying down on a bed, it was at that point he called our man, we don’t know how he got his number, he called him to say he had some dollars to sell in his office. Thereafter he tried to escape with the money. What he does is that, he picks on different people at different times, so, he was not really known except people he has duped.” The source who doesn’t want his name in print told Vanguard he is still in detention at Federal SARS, Ikeja. “He has been at SARS Ikeja since that day, since February 2nd. Different people are coming to report their own cases. It is not only our case he is now facing, people he had duped are coming to identify him and tell their stories. People are not only coming from Lagos State, they are coming as far as Ogun state and Edo States. And everybody that came to the police station are confirming he is the same man that duped them,” he added Confirming the man’s report, the PPRO had said, in a telephone conversation with Vanguard that, “We have many people coming up with evidences that he has done the same thing to them in the past. And that is what informed our decision to still hold on to him and we are doing a lot of investigations. Yes, he will still be in detention till we conclude our investigations, we have sought the court consent on that.”
